Julie Flower is a leadership development consultant, executive coach, facilitator, educator, speaker, podcaster and writer, working globally, with a focus on systems leadership, team collaboration, and problem-solving in complexity. She is also an External Tutor in Executive Coaching at Henley Business School (teaching on the Professional Certificate in Executive Coaching and the MSc in Coaching for Behavioural Change) and she is a credentialed ICF Associate Certified Coach. She has worked with numerous large organisations, including Sony Business Europe, GSK, Transport Scotland, IE Business School (Madrid), third sector organisations, major NHS Foundation Trusts and regulatory and research bodies, to develop strategy, facilitate large change programmes and develop internal capability.
With a varied background in management and leadership, including senior roles in the public, private and charitable sectors, she delivers evidence-based yet pragmatic consultancy, training and development...with humanity and a touch of humour. As an improviser, performing regularly in the UK and further afield, Julie can integrate learning from improv with evidence-based behavioural change approaches to help leaders and teams navigate uncertainty and be more spontaneous. Her work on improvisation and coaching features in the Henley MSc and in the recent book, Arts-Based Coaching. An experienced Trustee, Julie is currently on the board of Dementia Carers Count, and has a strong commitment to supporting carers in the workplace.
She also works as an Associate with FT top management consultancy The PSC, TPC Leadership and other boutique consultancies. Julie is part of Marshall Goldsmith’s 100 Coaches group in Europe and is based between Canterbury (UK) and Madrid. She recently co-edited Coaching Tools, a 3-volume compendium of coaching tools. Her solo theatre show, 'Grandma's Shop' played at the Gilded Balloon at Edinburgh Fringe in 2024 to a strong critical response, and is currently touring in the UK.
Julie graduated from Cambridge University with a BA (Hons.) in History and also holds an MSc with Distinction in Coaching and Behavioural Change from Henley Business School. She also has an MBA with Distinction in Public Service Management from the University of Brighton, where she has been a Visiting Lecturer at postgraduate level. Julie holds the Henley Professional Certificate in Coaching, ILM Level 7 Certificate in Executive Coaching and Leadership Mentoring, and the AoEC Certificate in Systemic Team Coaching.
